What is the difference between the Standard,
Professional, and Premium Editions?
STANDARD
EDITION (Crystal Ball) is our Excel-based, stand-alone
Monte Carlo simulation package. Standard Edition is used by spreadsheet
modelers who need to understand the risks associated with their
modeling assumptions.
PROFESSIONAL EDITION
(Crystal Ball) is a product suite that includes:
Crystal Ball Standard, OptQuest, CB Predictor, the Tools,
and the Developer Kits for Crystal Ball and CB Predictor. With
the Professional Edition, you can find optimal answers (e.g.,
maximize profits or minimize production costs), increase your
confidence in the reliability of your forecasts, forecast from
your raw historical data, and create your own customized user
interface.
PREMIUM
EDITION (Crystal Ball)is a product suite that includes: Crystal Ball Standard, OptQuest, CB Predictor, the Tools, the Developer Kits for Crystal Ball and CB Predictor, Real Options Analysis Toolkit, Risk Analysis Using Crystal Ball training CD and two textbooks: Financial Modeling with Crystal Ball and Excel and Real Options: A Practitioner’s Guide.
With the Premium Edition, you can resolve uncertainty using historical data and optimization. Additionally, with Real Options Analysis Toolkit, you can mitigate downside risk and take advantage of upside uncertainties by accounting for the strategic flexibility inherent in the project.

How do I install the different Premium components?
Crystal Ball Premium Edition consists of a single license of Crystal Ball Professional Edition, a single license of Real Options Analysis Toolkit and a single license of Risk Analysis Using Crystal Ball Training CD. Crystal Ball Premium Edition consists of two CDs. The Crystal Ball CD includes Crystal Ball Professional Edition and the Real Options Analysis Toolkit. The second CD is the Risk Analysis Using Crystal Ball training CD.
Additionally, the commercial version of Crystal Ball Premium Edition includes two textbooks:
- Financial Modeling with Crystal Ball and Excel by John Charnes
- Real Options: A Practitioner’s Guide by Tom Copeland and Vladimir Antikarov
To install Crystal Ball Premium Edition, first install Crystal Ball Professional Edition. This includes Crystal Ball, Crystal Ball Tools, OptQuest, CD Predictor and the CB developer's kit. Insert the Crystal Ball CD and follow the installation instructions. You will need the License Authorization Code (LAC) supplied by Decisioneering.
To install Real Options Analysis Toolkit, insert the Crystal Ball CD and follow the installation instructions. You will need the registration key for Real Options Analysis Toolkit supplied by Decisioneering.
To install the Risk Analysis Using Crystal Ball training CD, insert the training CD and follow the installation instructions. You will need the registration key for the training CD supplied by Decisioneering.
Is there an evaluation version available?
Yes, although you will need to get an evaluation version of both Crystal Ball Professional Edition and Real Options Analysis Toolkit. An evaluation version of the Risk Analysis Using Crystal Ball training CD is available with the Crystal Ball Professional Edition version.

Do you offer foreign language versions
of Crystal Ball Premium?
We currently do not offer foreign language versions of this product.
Can Crystal Ball run without Excel?
Crystal Ball is designed as an Microsoft Excel add-in, so
it requires Excel and an understanding of Excel.
